At Fly Fisher Pro we use our fly fishing experience to teach you all about casting on the big river, small stream, and lakes. We’ll help you with fly tying and choosing flies for fishing out on the water.
We have done the search for the best fly fishing locations around the world. Search our articles for the best fly fish gear for trout and bass. Start with our rod selection then check our reels and accessories to help you come home successful time and time again.
If you love to flyfish already and don’t mind a mild learning curve then try Tenkara fishing where the flies are attached directly to the rod.
Fly fishing is growing in popularity and a sign that people are wanting to put down their phones and get outdoors.
Ben Kepka – Founder
I grew up in New Zealand freshwater fishing for as long as I remember. We used to climb into drainage ditches and go fishing for long fin eels every day after school.
It was during this phase of my life that I saw my first trout and knew that I had to figure out how to catch it. Like many kiwi kids, we started spin fishing and for the next 5 or so years, we explored the local rivers. Some even from sea to source (over 70km!).
But spin fishing would do a lot of damage to the fish. We also started to notice that fish would remain feeding even after we’d fished to them with a lure.
That’s when I was introduced to fly fishing. I’ve been fly fishing for over 15 years now. It’s safe to say that I’m hooked! Haha

I’m a South African based fly fisherman who has been fishing and tying for the past 20 years. I enjoy targeting numerous fresh water species ranging from trout, carp and bass as well as our estuary species Grunter, Garrick and Kob. I have a funny thing that I can only use flies I have tied myself to catch fish.
